Rycie update

Today it was actually cool enough to go for a walk after nap. We ended up at the neighborhood playground -- a place we haven't been in at least a month because of the heat. Both kids were excited to play, even though it's a really tiny little playground. Bryce climbed up the steps like usual and stood at the top for a long time, watching some older boys play football nearby. After awhile, I got on the slide to see if he would go down with me. When we got to the bottom, I stood up, holding him. He wanted back on the slide so I set him down on the bottom. He immediately started to climb up the slide, a slide that's at least as tall as me. He got all the way to the very top all by himself. I was shocked because Cason can barely climb this slide and the first time he ever did was this year. When Bryce got to the top, he turned around and tried to plummet down the slide, face first, all while grinning and laughing. I had to turn him around because when he went face first, he kept getting stuck and then started to flip heels over head. He did this over and over again, scamper up the slide and then try to dive down again. He's a wild and crazy one!

He started officially walking on the 13th, when he was exactly 13 months old. I have video but I'm trying to find a good song to put with it. Not having any luck there. I'll get it up soon.

One of Bryce's current favorite activities is pushing around the shopping cart that Grandma and Grandpa G got Cason last year for his birthday. Bryce is awesome at pushing it. Meaning that he never runs into anything and can turn it around himself with no problem. He will push it all over the house, around and around, for the longest stretches of time. It's almost as big as he is so it's pretty cute to watch. He will stop at random times and pick up something off the floor or wherever he sees it, throw it in the cart, and keep going. It's like he's really shopping. I find some pretty random things in there sometimes. Just today he had a pajama shirt, several balls, a pacifier, a toddler fork, Kelly's Blender Bottle, a bath toy, some matchbox Jeeps, and some other random stuff in there. Here's a short video, just so you can see how big the cart is compared to him.
