Thank you Grandpa B.!
Thank you Grandpa B. for the dry erase board! Cason loves it and I love it now that I have replaced the markers with WASHABLE dry erase markers. Oh, and he is whispering because Bryce was napping.

Okay this video is pretty long because there are three separate gifts that Grandma and Grandpa G. sent. Thank you, Cason loves them all!
Here are a few of the pics that Cason has taken with his camera. These are in the order that he took them. He hasn't learned yet to hold the camera still while you take a picture.
Cason is REALLY into self portraits right now. No really he is obsessed with seeing if the flash goes off or not. If it doesn't, he gets mad and tells us the light isn't working. I just deleted 200 pictures from his camera and at least half of them were of his face or his shirt.
This one isn't blurry at all so I'm thinking Kelly must have taken it.

Thank you Denny and Lou Ann!
Now that I'm finally done with vacation pictures, I can start thanking relatives for birthday gifts they sent Cason. We have let him open one present a day since we got home. He actually opened this one before we left for vacation but I haven't had time to put the pictures or video up yet.

Cason and Tate
The last time we saw Tate was last July, right at Cason's 2nd birthday. At that point, they didn't really talk to each other and barely interacted. It was mostly fighting over toys or doing their own thing. We talk about Alissa, Dave, and Tate and I sometimes show him pictures or videos from Alissa's blog. But I didn't know how long it would take for Cason and Tate to feel comfortable around each other and how they would interact. It turned out that they hit if off right away. As soon as we all arrived at the townhome, Dave and I went to Walmart to get groceries. By the time we got back, Cason and Tate were running around the house together playing, jumping on the bed, and having cute little conversations.
Most of the time, they would just run off upstairs or on the back patio. It was kind of nice for them to entertain each other and they did a really good job of getting along most of the time. A few times a day, we would have to intervene, usually to stop Cason from hitting or kicking Tate. It was nice that there weren't many toys there for them to fight over. They usually just ended up jumping on Cason's bed. Which was great unless you were in Alissa and Dave's bathroom downstairs, then it sounded like the roof was caving in. Poor Bryce wanted to play with the big boys so bad but they weren't having any of that. Several times I heard one of them say "shut the door so the baby doesn't get in!" Hopefully next summer they will let him play!

Waterpark
While we were walking around downtown Charleston on Saturday night, I picked up a Charleston guide book. That turned out to be a smart move because in that book, I read about several Charleston County waterparks. I picked the cheapest one and looked it up online and it looked perfect for the kids. So we checked it out on Monday right after our donuts. It turned out to be one of the best things we did for the kids on our whole vacation. They both had a blast and it was a nice way to spend our last morning of vacation.
It only cost us around $20 for all four of us to get into the park. The park itself was tucked away in a state park so it was surrounded by trees and it really felt like it was away from the city. We picked a great day to go because hardly anyone was there. The lifeguard I talked to said it's usually really crowded every day. Everywhere we turned, there was a cool water feature. Cason doesn't like getting water on his face or head but other than that, he loves playing in/with water.
This thing was pretty cool, you could spin the lower three pieces around and they had dams you could put in to change the water flow.
Bryce had a lot of fun until he got super tired. He was missing his nap and there was no way he was going to sleep at the water park.
If the kids turned this red wheel, they could start and stop the water flow. Cason thought that was pretty neat.
Cason wouldn't go on this slide at first because of the water coming out the top. So we just stopped mentioning it and all of the sudden, he decided to go down over and over and over again. We were very proud of him for giving it a try!
The waterpark must have really tired Cason out. I have not seen this boy sleep outside of his bed or his car seat since he was just a few months old. He fell asleep in the car on the way to the airport and stayed asleep when Kelly moved him to the stroller where he slept for probably close to an hour before we went through security.

Joey Bag a Donuts
Over the week, Kelly and Alissa kept talking about cinnamon rolls. We searched the internet for a local cinnamon roll place but didn't have any luck. When we got to Charleston, I again checked for a local place famous for their cinnamon rolls. Since I couldn't find anything, I decided to search for donuts. I found a nice looking family owned shop called Joey Bag a Donuts only a few miles from our hotel so we went there on our last morning of vacation. Ironically, there was a brand new CrossFit gym RIGHT next door to the donut shop so we had to stop in there to say hi as well.
Cason had never had a donut before. I know he has been given donut holes a few times at church but we have never bought him a donut before. Which is ironic since we live in Texas and there is a donut shop in almost every single strip of stores. I have never seen so many donut shops before I moved here. We started telling him on Sunday night that we were going to get a donut after breakfast and he was super excited.
When we walked in, Bryce walked over to the glass case where all the donuts were displayed and just paced back and forth saying "MMMMM!" over and over again at an increasingly loud volume. He didn't even know what they were, he just knew he wanted one. The shop owners just laughed and they were so excited when I pulled out my camera and they found out it was Cason's first donut.
For his first donut, Cason picked this one, yup that's Fruit Loops on top. They had all kinds of cereal topped donuts and some even had candy such as peanut butter cups on them.
We got Bryce a couple of donut holes which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Kelly wanted a classic glazed donut and I went with my favorite, cream filled with chocolate on top. Mine was so good, I had to have a second. The cream was absolutely perfect.
Cason ate most of his donut like this despite us repeatedly asking him to pick it up and not eat like a dog. I have to think that he just didn't want to get his hands dirty.
