Cason says so many funny things lately that I've been trying to jot them down in a notebook when something makes me really crack up so I don't forget. Here are a few from the past week or so.
Last week one night I was finishing up washing the dishes and I let Cason know that it was almost bathtime. He said "Mommy, remember, no soap or water in my eyes." He has always hated getting soap and water in his eyes so this has been a standing rule of his for quite some time. It's not something that I really need to be reminded of so I teased him "why not?" He replied, "Because. It ruins me."
If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you might remember that back in November 2009, Cason developed a sudden strange fear of goats. He was convinced for awhile that there was a goat living in our bathroom. At one point I told him that the goat left, it went to live in Iowa. It just came out of my mouth. That has always stuck with him. Then he went about a year without really mentioning goats at all. A few nights ago, Cason said "I want to go on baycation (vacation) sometime." I said "Okay. We'll go on vacation to Iowa this summer." He got a really serious look on his face and said "Well, we'll have to stay away from the goats."
We listen to Pandora on my computer a lot. The kids eat breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner at the breakfast bar and my laptop is just sitting there so I just turn on Pandora for some music while we eat. If you don't use Pandora, you create your own radio stations and if it plays a song you don't like, you hit the thumbs down icon and it will never play it again. If you hit the thumbs up icon, it will play similar music. Cason is familiar with this so if we are in the car or at the gym, he will often say "thumbs up this song!" or "thumbs down this song!"
Sometimes when I work out and Kelly is out of town, I have a girl named Taylor watch the kids in the cage at the gym. Taylor is 20, the owner of the gym's daughter, and our primary babysitter. One day she was watching the boys and Cason was wearing his absolutely favorite shirt, his bat shirt that I bought him for Halloween in 2009 (it still fits). I was getting warmed up or something and all of the sudden I heard Cason ask Taylor "do you like bats?" Taylor told him she did so then he asked "do you like bat shirts?" It just struck me as funny.
Last night we were at Pizza Inn and when the boys got done eating, they wanted to go "play" the arcade games. I don't usually give them money but they have fun pushing the buttons, pretending to drive the car games, and watching the screens do the demos. Cason had me lift him up to see the Ms Pac Man game. It was going through it's demo and I didn't realize the ghosts (Cason called them octopuses) had names so I read them off to Cason. Their names are Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Sue. The demo cycled around again and the next time the ghosts came out he named them off, "Aqua, Doodle, Octopus, and Doodle."
