Our Scaled team. They did the same wods as the Elite team but the weights were lower.

One of the team wods was released more than a week before the competition so they had a little time to practice and scheme. The other two wods were released a few days before the competition.
Team wod #1
2 rounds:
200 wall balls over 10 foot bar
400 m run carrying 90 pounds on chains
The first wod was kind of dumb. They had to throw a 20 pound medicine ball (15 pounds for women) over a 10 foot high bar. If they touched the bar, it was a no rep and they had to do it over. But the bar was like a trapeze bar so if they touched it with the ball, it would swing wildly. Oh and they had to squat before the throw like a wall ball. The guys all did great with this and had a good rhythm going but Amy was having issues getting it over and they ended up running out of time and not finishing the wod.
Taylor throwing the ball.
Every team or individual had a judge who would count reps and call "no rep" if standards were not met. Everyone in a yellow shirt is one of the judges.

Team run with 90 lbs.

Wod #2
Carry all equipment (bars and weights) over two bales of hay
Assemble equipment
then 21-15-9
deadlifts 245 pounds (185 for women)
team burpees done in a wave with a clap behind the back while on the ground
So the team started on one side of the bale of hay. They had to jump over the first bale of hay and pass all of the equipment over. Then run (maybe 20 meters) to the next bale, get everyone and all equipment over that bale and then put all the weights on the barbells. Then do the actual wod.

Ready to go.

Over the hay, putting weights on.

Kelly doing his deadlifts.

Team burpees.

Here's a short video of this wod that Rob took with his phone. This was the 21 deadlifts, they decided to break it up into 3 sets of 7.
They did pretty well on the second wod but because they didn't finish the first wod, they didn't have a high enough score to go on into the 3rd team wod. The results haven't been posted yet but I think they got 10th out of the elite teams.
Our intermediate team did really well. They got the fastest time for the first wod. They did pretty well on the 2nd wod too so they went onto the 3rd wod, which was 10 min to find everyone's max clean and jerk. They ended up getting 4th place overall in the Scaled team division. Really great considering it was the first competition for 3/4 of the team!
They didn't release the individual wods until the morning of the competition so I didn't know what I was doing until I walked in to the gym that morning. Probably for the best because when I saw them, I got really nervous and I'm glad I didn't have to worry about it for days before.
WOD #1
AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) 17 min
9 overhead lunges 55 lbs
9 alternated grip deadlifts 115 pounds (had to do off center so the weight was unbalanced)
9 2fers (wall balls with two squats for every throw)
This was definitely my toughest wod and I was so nervous about it when I saw it. The weight of the overhead lunges intimidated me, I didn't think I could do that much but it turned out to be easier than I thought it would be. The deadlifts were fine, even unbalanced. The 2fers were awful. I hate wall balls to begin with and now make me do the extra squat? I got 7 rounds + 21 reps, which turned out to be 3rd among the women.
Setting up before the wod started. My judge (who was awesome) taped where I usually put my hands on the bar and then I had to alternate the deadlifts with my hands to the right/left of the tape so I would be closer to one side or the other and make it harder.
Right before the first wod started. I was so nervous!

Overhead lunges. This was the longest 17 minutes of the entire day. It was not a fun wod at all, I was so tired by the end of it. I was seriously questioning why I was even competing during most of the wod.

WOD #2
4 Rounds:
40 m gallops
10 knees to elbows
10 push ups
10 GHD sit ups
then... 1000 m row
I definitely underestimated the gallops. I tried a few before the wod and they seemed easy but 40 m quickly took it's toll. Gallops are a ridiculous cross between a bear crawl and I don't know what. Had to transfer weight from legs to arms while hopping. Knees to elbows were tough but doable and sit ups and push ups were fine. The row was long since I was spent but I had a lot of friends cheering me on and pushing me and that helped a TON.
I got 17:56, which was 4th among the women and had me tied for 2nd with 3 other ladies.
GHD sit ups
Terrible picture but knees to elbows.

Awful gallops. This was after I ripped my hand so I was trying to do it on my fingertips.

This is me tired.

WOD #3
Upside down disorientated Fran
9-15-21
thrusters with different weight dumbbells in each hand (20 lbs and 10 lbs for scaled women)
5 spins (spin in a circle, just like it sounds)
over/under pull ups with blue band (one overhand grip hand, one underhand grip hand)
5 spins
I crushed this wod. This one was made for me. The thrusters were light enough that I could do them all unbroken. I can do pull ups with no band, I've actually never used a band before so the band just made it that much more easy. I finished this in 3:38 and the next closest women's time was a full two minutes after me. The girl who had been in first place after wod #2 needed to get 6th place or better to secure her lead but she actually couldn't get high enough on the pull ups and placed 8th in this wod. That pushed me into first place in the competition and she went to second place. I was so surprised!
Dumbbell thrusters.

I didn't find out that I won until an hour or so later after all the wods were completed and the scores totaled and they announced the winners.

I didn't even know there were prizes but I took home quite a loot! I got the Olympic Weightlifting book and DVD by Greg Everett, a Trigger Point Therapy kit (worth $150!), a $25 gift certificate to RokFit, a $25 gift certificate to Life as Rx, a $25 gift certificate to Luke's Locker, some t-shirts (that were way too big and I gave to Rob and Kelly), and a bunch of junk (literally) from Airrosti (a can koozi, plastic water bottle, etc). Oh and a certificate saying that I got first place.
I think we all had a great time and are looking forward to the next competition. I liked doing individual competition but I'd also like to give team competition a try. Meanwhile, we'll all just keep training hard.
