Parade of Lights

I wanted to kick off the Christmas season with something fun for Cason so we took him to the annual Parade of Lights in downtown Fort Worth on Friday night. There were supposed to be lots of fun kids activities but we didn't see much. Cason did decorate a tile, courtesy of Home Depot. But that was about it for the activities. We grabbed something to eat and then it was almost time for the parade to start.

The buildings and trees downtown are all lit up very pretty.

The place was packed but Cason had a pretty good seat.

I didn't take any pictures of the floats but there were 100 floats and they were all lit up and mostly had a Christmas theme. Even the horses were lit up.

Cason really enjoyed watching the parade. I asked him what his favorite part was and he said "the horsies and the helicopters and airplanes". The aircraft were not part of the parade but kept flying overhead. But I think his real favorite part was this toy we bought him for $5. When you push a button, the thing inside spins around and lights up and he's barely put it down since we got home.
