If Grandma G. hadn't sent that package a few weeks back, I wouldn't have blogged at all in August. Honestly, I've been too busy during my free time (a.k.a. when both kids are sleeping). On August 1st, I decided to start on Volume 2 of Pages We've Turned (the book of my blog) and it ended up taking an entire month. Volume 1 was 77 pages and Volume 2 is 258 pages I think. Not fun. The Booksmart software I have to use is SO painfully slow and when I was 50 pages into it, it ate my book (for lack of better terminology) so I had to start over. But anyway, this volume will be better than the last so I'm excited to finally get it ordered and see it in person.
So here's what we were up to in August. We returned from vacation on July 26th. On the 28th, Kelly was at the gym jumping rope and broke his third metatarsal. Our CrossFit Football coach's theory is that he had new, stiff shoes on and they were laced too tight. As he was jumping up and down, there was not enough give in the toe box to let his foot flex and that is why he broke it. Anyway, after speaking with his company, Kelly found out he could not go back to work while he had the post-op shoe on. So he has been home for the past 5 weeks. Which has been awesome.
Basically, we've been at the CrossFit gym 6 days a week since we got back from vacation. I work out 5-6 days a week, sometimes twice a day. There is a great group of ladies that go most evenings at 7:30 so I joined them most nights. There are also some fun girls in the mid morning so sometimes I go then. Some days I end up working out alone and that's okay too. This is only funny because I used to HATE working out. You can read my testimonial here if you scroll down to the bottom of the page. Kelly goes in early to work out with the 5:30 am crowd.
Not only are we working out a lot but we also just go there to hang out or help out too. Cason had CrossFit Kids twice a week until mid August so we were there for that. We have also helped do things like build wall ball targets, put up some drywall, and I have done a lot of painting. We have also helped with marketing and the gym's 12 week Clean Eating Challenge that we are participating in. In early August, Coach asked Kelly to get his own Level 1 Coaching Certificate. His training is mid September and then he will start working at the gym part time coaching the classes.
Kelly should be back to work in about a week. We will miss him. It has been great having him home for all this time. He has been so much help with the kids and it's nice to have a family dinner every night. And we will both miss being at the gym so much. That pretty much sums up our August!

Well, Kelly will miss being at the gym. You can still go often because I can watch your boys for you! :)
