I don't make New Year's resolutions but this year I decided I was behind in some areas and needed to make some goals to get caught up. One of the big ones was Cason's baby book. I had an okay start on it but haven't really touched it in the past year. Another huge thing I was behind on was my photos. I faithfully uploaded pictures to iphoto on my computer but that is where it stopped. I edited some if I wanted to put them on my blog or send them to family but most were left untouched. I also NEVER printed them out. I had a few photos of his first month or so and a few more around 6 months but that's it.
So I undertook the huge task of getting caught up on Cason's baby book and editing, printing, and organizing my photos. I have no idea how many hours this took, let's just say it took a lot of nap times (Cason's nap time that is). I edited hundreds of photos and uploaded them to Snapfish. When they arrived, I sorted them in chronological order (thank goodness for iphoto to keep track of dates for me) and arranged them in photo albums. I am also proud to say that I am DONE with his baby book. It is filled with photos and every page is filled out except some pages like "what was going on the year I was born". I'm bad at that stuff, he can google it when he's older if he's curious. So here you see the baby book, two photo albums for snapshots, one photo album for professional 5x7 pictures, and one photo album for professional 4x6 pictures. Now my goal is to stay caught up by editing and printing my photos every 3 or 4 months.
I also made a growth chart for Bryce. It is identical in shape, size, and design to the one I made Cason last November. I just used different scrapbook papers to match his room and make it his. The hardest part was finding paper that I liked, that took forever.
And finally, I made Bryce this night light. I wanted something that could sit on his bookcase and have a long cord to plug into the outlet so the boys leave it alone. It also had to be really dim because I don't like bright night lights. After a few failure ideas, I came up with this. It's just a small shadowbox. I frosted the glass with spray and drilled a hole in the back for the light. Then put some frog stickers on. It's very simple but I am happy with it.

Cason's scrapbook will be going in the mail to him yet this week. Hopefully you will enjoy looking through it.
I'll do one for Bryce's first year and then I will just do special projects for them as they get older.
