Um, so I haven't thought out this post much so it may be a bit disorganized.
Bryce has 2 real words and does 4 signs. His signs are: all done, more, milk, and hi/bye. He has picked up two of those in just the past week so I really think he'll just keep adding more and more. His first word was "uh-oh" and he loves to say it all day long. We're still working on the concept that it's not uh-oh if you intentionally threw it from your high chair tray. His second word he just picked up in the past day or two. It's "awww" and he says it when he gives his sock monkey a hug. I personally think it's one of the cutest things of all time. Probably because Cason has never been into stuffed animals and never went around hugging things.
He is the complete opposite of Cason in so many ways and I love that about him. When I imagined him before he was born, I pictured a mini Cason. He is quite different and I wouldn't have it any other way. In some ways, he is very much like his big brother though. One example is his intensity. When he is happy, he is REALLY happy. When he is upset, the whole block knows it. And he really is happy unless he is teething, which unfortunately is often. He has the s-l-o-w-e-s-t moving teeth ever.
Bryce started pulling up and cruising at 6 or 7 months. I was so eager for him to walk. I admitted to a friend that I was rooting for him to beat Cason, who walked at 10.5 months. Being the younger sibling myself, I tend to route for the underdog. Well 10.5 months came and went and I came to terms with the fact that he was content to crawl/cruise/be carried. Now I love enjoying the babyness of him and am in no hurry for him to walk. I hope for their sake that is the last time that I compare them like that.
We still haven't found a fruit or veggie that Bryce dislikes although he is starting to become more picky about eating meat. He loves sliced lunch meat but other meats are hit or miss. He loves holding a fork or spoon while he eats and trying to imitate us using them. He also has started to get mad when I cut his food up in pieces and prefers for me to give him the entire sandwich. He is one determined little boy and I love his persistence. I pray he does great things someday with those traits.
He still loves his mama the best but does great in the church nursery and recently Kelly started taking him to the gym child care once or twice a month and they say he is one of the best kids in there. No one can make him laugh quite as hard as Cason can but unfortunately Cason also likes to hurt him when I'm not looking.
I love this age and look forward to watching all he will learn and seeing how his personality develops in the next year. Happy 1st birthday, Rycie, we love you!!!

Okay, so he is like the cutest thing ever saying "aww" when he hugs his monkey! Seriously, I love it! Maybe that will be his lovey that he attaches himself to.
